What is a Time Travel Lofen Palace?
On 2 June 1122, Emperor Henry V granted the people of Utrecht town privileges in his palace called ‘Lofen’. The palace burnt down in 1253, but the remains are still located in cellars between Domplein and the Vismarkt. They haven’t been accessible for decades, until now.
Visit this ‘birthplace’ of the city and travel through time, back to Utrecht in 1122 when it functioned as the capital of the Netherlands. A visit is always with a guided tour and available in English (and Dutch).

Opening hours
Lofen Palace is located between the Domplein and the Vismarkt in the centre of Utrecht. The ticketoffice and start of the Time Travel Lofen Palace is at Domplein 9, the Utrecht Shop / Tourist Information Centre.
The Domplein is easibly accessible both by foot and by public transport.
A visit to Lofen Palace is always with a guided tour. Check out the ticketshop for current available tours. Buy your ticket in advance online as Lofen Palace is a popular attraction and ticket availability can be limited.

Lofen Palace is closed on 25 and 26 december, 31 december, New Year’s Day and King’s Day (27 April).
